MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia is investigating Netflix after its public commissioner for shielding households accused the streaming firm of violating Russian legislation on “homosexual propaganda”, the Vedomosti day by day reported.
The commissioner, Olga Baranets, complained to the Inside Ministry that Netflix was in breach of a 2013 legislation that bans disseminating “propaganda on non-traditional sexual relations” amongst Russians beneath the age of 18 when broadcasting LGBT-themed sequence with a 16+ label.
