NVIDIA and the Way forward for 3D Improvement with Aaron Luk


Producing 3D movies, video games and simulations is a posh course of, typically involving a number of groups and instruments. At Pixar, pipeline engineers wanted to put in writing numerous glue code to combine totally different workflows and file codecs, which was a giant problem, and led them to create the  Common Scene Description, or OpenUSD. OpenUSD implements summary knowledge fashions for producing 3D worlds, and is now an open-source challenge.

Making full use of OpenUSD required a software program framework. This motivated NVIDIA to create Omniverse, which is a modular growth platform that permits people and groups to develop OpenUSD-based 3D workflows and purposes.
