Free Expertise for Academics: StoryMap JS

Like many lecturers, I used to be disillusioned when Google deprecated Tour Builder and Tour Creator final 12 months. Since then in my webinar collection with Rushton Hurley and on social media I’ve answered quite a lot of questions from lecturers about options to Tour Builder. StoryMap JS is without doubt one of the instruments that I have been suggesting when requested for Tour Builder options. That is why earlier this week after I bought a Twitter DM from a instructor in Texas who was in search of a Tour Builder various I made a decision to create a brand new tutorial video about utilizing StoryMap JS.

In this tutorial video I reveal how you should utilize StoryMap JS as a substitute for Tour Builder. Within the tutorial I embody instructions for incorporating Google Road View imagery into your mapped tales constructed with StoryMap JS.

Purposes for Schooling

Constructing a storymap with Storymap JS supplies a great way for college kids to make connections between historic occasions and their places. For instance, within the storymap I made within the video above I included a reference to the New York Yankees dropping the 2004 American League championship to the Boston Crimson Sox in an unprecedented and historic trend.
