Cosmologists largely imagine that when our universe was extraordinarily younger — lower than a trillionth of a trillionth of a second outdated — it went completely nuts. Within the tiniest fraction of a second of time (once more, involving trillionths upon trillionths of a second), the universe obtained actually, actually large.
How large? It’s onerous to say precisely, as a result of this idea is very hypothetical, however “means greater than you would possibly assume” ought to suffice. Most fashions of this occasion, referred to as inflation, name for a universe that’s no less than 10^52 occasions greater than the observable quantity of the cosmos. Since that observable patch is already 90 billion light-years throughout, that implies that the true extent of our universe is so large, it’s practically incomprehensible.
